PROJECT OVERVIEW:
This home remodel transformed an unassuming exterior into a stunning three-level modern masterpiece in Eastern Market, Washington DC. The project included a three-level rear addition and a complete reconfiguration of the space, creating a free-flowing contemporary lifestyle. The expansive kitchen remodel features a large seated island, and the open dining-living area opens onto the garden through 15-foot, five-panel accordion doors, allowing seamless indoor-outdoor living. White oak floors, sleek cabinetry, and a mix of materials including repurposed wood beams and concrete surfaces define the home’s aesthetic.
The remodel also reimagined an oversized garage into a multi-functional accessory dwelling unit, complete with a home office, gym, storage, and flexible living spaces. A challenging interior stair was creatively addressed, ensuring functionality while adhering to lot usage restrictions. The new living space features black-framed windows, white oak floors, sleek built-ins, and polished concrete flooring. A three-panel accordion door connects the garage conversion to the garden, creating a seamless flow for entertainment. This remodel beautifully meets the family’s needs while offering exceptional spaces for both daily living and entertaining.
