Historic Home with Modern Addition
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
This whole-home remodel was designed to help our clients stay in the home they love while adapting to their expanding family’s needs. We took a holistic approach, reimagining the entire layout to enhance flow, functionality, and comfort—all while prioritizing the homeowners’ wishlist.
Every detail was carefully considered to create a seamless blend of beauty and practicality. A spacious chef’s kitchen now serves as the heart of the home, while a new primary suite with a private walkout brings a retreat-like feel. Additional bathrooms were added to improve convenience, and a thoughtfully designed rear addition expands the living space without compromising the home’s character.
Navigating the complexities of a historic district, we meticulously replaced the original wood siding with historically approved pine, preserving the home’s authenticity. Meanwhile, a modern addition was intentionally designed to complement—yet stand apart from—the original structure, creating a perfect balance between old and new.
